Great cosmetic condition, minimal wear on the lens body. Fully working with no faults and clear optics. Zoom is nice and smooth and AF is super quick and accurate. Great professional constant aperture zoom lens with superb build quality. Has a very hard wearing crinkle coat finish, was built to last. This lens was the pro f/2.8 workhorse zoom before the current 24-70 replaced it. Covers wide angle to short telephoto and has very similar function and quality to the current 24-70 2.8G. This lens has an inbuilt focus motor that is super quick, just as quick as the 24-70. Has the convenient full time manual override with the focus ring.
Very good everyday lens because of the focal length and the fact that it can focus very close, giving decent macro capability. Works brilliant with extension tubes too. I have found this lens to be very sharp at all focal lengths and even at its widest aperture.

Compatiblity wise it is one of the most compatible lenses that Nikon has ever made. It will work great on every Nikon digital SLR camera ever made. Will work on FX and DX cameras. Most Nikon film cameras will also be compatible (even manual focus ones)
